What it does
NETICS CRM has two linked parts, both under Business > NETICS CRM in the sidebar. Customers is the directory of the people you do business with: who they are, what they are worth, when you last spoke and everything that has happened since they first got in touch. CRM workspace is where you organise them for selling and marketing: contacts, lists, tags, custom fields, live audiences, bulk changes and a CRM dashboard.
Most records fill themselves. When someone writes on WhatsApp, chats on your website or calls your NETICS line, NETICS matches them to an existing customer by phone or email, or creates a new one. Their orders, bookings, calls and conversations then land on the same profile, newest first. Every customer also appears as a CRM contact automatically, so the list you market to is the list your agent is already talking to.
Who it is for
Any business that sells through relationships rather than one-off walk-ins: a Lagos boutique with repeat buyers, an Abuja estate agency following up viewings, a Port Harcourt consultancy, or a finance desk where an account officer owns each client. It is the base under the sales pipeline and automations.
How it works in NETICS
- Open Business > NETICS CRM > Customers. Press Add customer and fill in name, phone, email, city, country, preferred language and notes, or tick VIP customer.
- Record who owns the relationship. Registered under branch picks one of your branches, and Account officer picks a staff member from Employees or takes any name you type. Both show in the directory's Branch ยท officer column and on the profile.
- Bring in what you already have. Owners and admins can import a CSV from Excel or Google Sheets; anyone already on the list (same email or phone) is updated, never duplicated, and Tag this batch labels the import so you can target it later.
- Open a customer to see the Timeline of calls, chats, orders, bookings, leads and follow-ups, a Customer account statement of their invoices, Documents and files, and a Follow-ups box for when, how (Email, WhatsApp or Phone call) and what to say.
- Go to CRM workspace > Contacts to organise. All contacts filters by list, tag, email verdict, stage, subscription, source and follow-up date. Lists hold fixed groups, Tags are reusable labels, Fields adds custom fields, and Audiences are live segments.
- Open a contact for two tabs: Profile (identity, consent, stage, source, custom fields, notes) and Emails, which shows every email sent to that person and whether it was delivered, opened, clicked, bounced or unsubscribed.
- Check the CRM Dashboard for contacts, subscribers, active automations, follow-ups due, lead movement by stage, contact sources and live email activity.
Key capabilities
- Customer directory. Search by name, phone or email, filter by VIP, email-ready or archived, and see total customers, average lifetime value and at-risk customers.
- One timeline per customer. Calls, conversations, orders, bookings and follow-ups appear as they happen, each shown only to staff whose role allows it.
- Branch and account officer. Record which branch a customer belongs to and who closed the deal, and export both in the customer CSV.
- Lists, tags, fields and audiences. Fixed lists, coloured tags, your own fields (text, number, currency, date, select and more), and live audiences built from rules such as stage, tag, city or a custom field.
- Where contacts came from. Each contact carries a source, such as referral, website, WhatsApp, a form, an import or NETICS leads, with a filter and a dashboard panel.
- Consent kept honestly. New and imported contacts start as No verified consent unless you confirm they agreed. Suppressed addresses stay protected, and marketing emails carry an unsubscribe link.
- CSV import and export. Map columns in your own words, create custom fields during import, and export the filtered view with every custom field.
- Bulk changes. Tag, list, restage, change subscription or delete thousands of contacts at once, after a review step.
- Works on a phone. Tabs scroll sideways, numbers sit two to a row, and the customer table turns into stacked cards on a small screen.
Plan availability
The Customers directory, customer profiles, the CRM workspace contacts, lists, tags, fields, audiences, imports, exports and the CRM dashboard are open on every plan, including the 3-day free trial (no card needed). The Customers page's own bulk bar (Mark VIP, Add tag, Export CSV, Delete) works on every plan too.
Bulk actions inside the CRM workspace (Bulk update, deleting a selection, and the Bulk actions page) are part of advanced CRM on Growth (NGN 200,000 a month). On Starter (NGN 50,000 a month) and Pay as you go (no monthly fee, pay from credits) you can open and fill them in, and NETICS offers the upgrade when you press apply. Pay as you go includes 1 user seat, Starter 3 and Growth 15. Prices exclude VAT; see pricing.
What it does not do yet
There is no merge for duplicate contacts; NETICS prevents a second contact with the same email or phone and points you to the existing one instead. You cannot yet filter or sort the directory by branch or account officer, and the importers do not read those two columns. A branch on a customer is a record, not an access rule: everyone with customer access sees the whole directory. Records in HubSpot or Zoho are not copied into NETICS CRM.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to type my customers in myself?
No. Customers are created as people reach you through your NETICS agent on website chat, WhatsApp and calls, and from orders, bookings and forms. You can still add people by hand or import a CSV of the customers you already have.
What is the difference between Customers and CRM contacts?
They are two views of the same people. Customers holds the business facts, such as lifetime value, VIP, branch and account officer. CRM contacts hold the marketing side: lists, tags, pipeline stage and consent. Every customer becomes a CRM contact automatically.
Will imported contacts start getting marketing emails?
Not unless you say they agreed. Imported contacts arrive as No verified consent, and NETICS only sends marketing email to people marked Subscribed. Tick the permission box during a CRM import only when the people on that file really agreed to hear from you.
Can I see which staff member closed a deal?
Yes. Set the Account officer on the customer, either by picking someone from Employees or typing a name, and set the branch they registered under. Both appear in the directory, on the profile and in the customer CSV export, so you can total them up in a spreadsheet. Wider branch comparison lives in Analytics.
Can my sales team use the CRM on their phones?
Yes. The console works in a phone browser: the CRM's module and section tabs become one sideways-scrolling row each, and the customer table shows each person as a stacked card. That suits teams who spend the day away from a desk, such as agents in real estate or sales staff in retail.
