Email and SMS broadcasts that reach people who said yes

What it does

Broadcasts live in the NETICS CRM workspace under Broadcasts, with two channels: Email and SMS. You choose who receives it, write it, test it, and send it now or schedule it for later.

NETICS treats consent as a rule, not a setting. A broadcast only goes to contacts whose status is subscribed. Imported lists and generated leads are not consent, so they are left out until the person agrees, for example by ticking the consent box on one of your forms. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, and addresses that bounce or complain are suppressed across NETICS.

After it goes out, you see what happened for each person: accepted by the mail provider, opened, clicked, responded, or skipped and why.

Who it is for

Businesses whose customers want to hear from them: a fashion label announcing a new collection, a beauty and wellness studio filling quiet weekdays, a school reminding parents about resumption, or an online shop telling past buyers an item is back in stock.

How it works in NETICS

  1. Before your first email broadcast, open NETICS CRM > CRM workspace > Tools > Email setup and use Send from your own domain: type your domain, press Add domain, add the DNS records shown, then press Verify.
  2. Go to Broadcasts, pick Email or SMS, and press Create email broadcast or Create SMS broadcast.
  3. Information: give the broadcast an internal name and, if you like, a category.
  4. Contacts: pick saved Lists, Tags, a dynamic audience or individual contacts. With nothing picked it goes to every eligible subscribed contact. A live panel shows how many people can receive it, with sample names.
  5. Content: for email, set the From name, From email, Reply-to, Subject and Inbox preview, then write in the Visual builder, Rich text or Raw HTML, using {{contact_first_name}} to personalise. Preview and test sends a test to any inbox. For SMS, write up to 1,530 characters and watch the character and segment count.
  6. Review: check the sender and audience, then press Send now, or choose a date and time and press Schedule.
  7. Follow the result in Activity: provider accepted, opened, clicked, responded and unsubscribed, the links people followed, and a "Who did what" list you can filter and search.

Key capabilities

  • Consent checked at send. Only subscribed contacts with a usable address or phone number are counted, and each address is checked again as it goes out.
  • Saved lists and audiences. Target lists, tags and saved audiences, or a mix of them. A contact on two lists still gets one copy.
  • Your own sending domain. Verify up to 5 domains per workspace so mail leaves as you, signed for your domain. If you have not verified one, NETICS may ask you to add one before a broadcast can go.
  • Deliverability tools. Tools > Deliverability shows how much you can send, live DKIM, DMARC and MX checks for your sending domains, and which contacts on your list look undeliverable or risky.
  • Daily caps per sending domain. Each sending domain has a daily cap, 100 emails a day by default, and a warm-up allowance that grows as the domain builds a good record. A domain with too many complaints or bounces is paused for review. Large broadcasts go out in waves and carry on by themselves.
  • Respectful frequency. One person gets at most 3 marketing emails from you in a rolling week, at least 24 hours apart, and never the same broadcast twice.
  • Email activity. Opens, clicks, bounces and unsubscribes per broadcast, per link and per contact, with an Email activity panel on the CRM dashboard and an Emails tab on each contact. Opens are a floor, because some mail apps load or block the tracking image; clicks are counted directly.
  • SMS with opt-out wording. Each SMS is sent as "Your business name: message" and ends with "Reply STOP to opt out".
  • Ask NETICS to draft it. In NETICS Chat, say who it is for and what to say. NETICS counts the audience, tells you who is left out for consent, writes the draft, and waits for your Confirm before anything sends.

Plan availability

Writing, previewing and test emails are free on every plan. Sending and scheduling email broadcasts is included on Growth (NGN 200,000 a month), Enterprise and Custom, with no per-email charge. On Starter (NGN 50,000 a month), Pay as you go (no monthly fee, pay from credits) and the 3-day free trial, each email costs NGN 1.50 from usage credits. SMS costs NGN 10 per message from credits on every plan, Growth included, unless an Enterprise agreement sets its own rate. The cost is shown before you send, and a broadcast is paid in full or not sent. One credit is NGN 15. The trial includes 100 credits (NGN 1,500), Starter 750 credits a month (NGN 11,250) and Growth 3,000 credits a month (NGN 45,000), and top-ups start at NGN 1,500. Prices exclude VAT. See pricing.

What it does not do yet

  • There are no WhatsApp broadcasts. WhatsApp messages to contacts go through automations, inside WhatsApp's own rules.
  • NETICS does not receive SMS replies yet, so a STOP reply is not recorded automatically. Mark that contact unsubscribed in the CRM.
  • You cannot bring your own SMS provider or sender ID.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my broadcast show fewer people than my contact list?

Only contacts marked subscribed are counted. People who were imported, found through lead generation, unsubscribed, bounced or complained are left out, as are email addresses marked undeliverable and, for SMS, contacts with no phone number.

Some people may also be cooling down because they received a marketing email from you recently. The review step shows how many are ready now and when the rest become eligible.

Can I send to a list I imported?

You can import the list, but its contacts are not counted as subscribed. Imports are not consent. They become eligible when the person agrees, for example through one of your NETICS forms with a consent statement, or when someone on your team records their agreement on the contact.

Do I need my own sending domain?

You should have one. Verifying your domain under Tools, Email setup lets broadcasts leave as your business, builds your own sending record, and keeps your reputation separate from anyone else's. It takes a few DNS records and one press of Verify.

What does Provider accepted mean?

It means the mail provider took the email for delivery. It does not prove the email reached the inbox, which is why NETICS shows opens, clicks and responses next to it, and lists every skipped recipient with the reason.

How much does a broadcast cost on Starter?

Email costs NGN 1.50 per recipient, so an email to 2,000 subscribed contacts costs NGN 3,000 from usage credits. The same applies on Pay as you go and the trial. SMS costs NGN 10 per recipient on every plan. On Growth, Enterprise and Custom, email broadcasts have no per-email charge from NETICS.
