What it does
The ERP Route is the folder in the NETICS sidebar where the back office lives: Finance, Invoice template, Inventory, Procurement, People, Payroll and Accounts. It works on the same customers, orders and branches as the rest of NETICS. An invoice raised from an order already knows the customer, the items and the discount. Goods accepted from a supplier go straight into stock. A paid payroll run shows up as an expense in Finance.
Money is held exactly. Every amount is stored in kobo (minor units), and VAT rates are stored in basis points, so 7.5% stays exactly 7.5% and totals never drift by a rounding. Invoice statuses are worked out, not typed: an invoice is draft, sent, paid or void, and "partially paid" and "overdue" are read from its balance and due date the moment you look, so nothing goes stale.
Who it is for
Owners and finance leads who want invoices, stock and staff in the same place as their customer conversations. A Lagos distributor counting stock across two warehouses, an Abuja solar installer billing parts and labour, or a consultancy sending invoices with long contract terms. See how this fits manufacturing and distribution, solar and energy and professional services businesses.
How it works in NETICS
- Open ERP Route > Invoice template and fill in Your details, How to pay (banking and payment information), Terms (standard payment terms and warranty provisions) and Footer. A live preview shows what every new invoice will say.
- In Finance, open the Invoices tab and create an invoice from scratch or from an order. Add lines, choose No discount, Amount or Percent, set VAT, and watch the subtotal, discount, VAT and total update as you type. Since 18 October 2026 every money box shows commas as you type and the record's currency sign, in any ISO currency.
- Use Send invoice or Copy customer link. Your customer opens a branded invoice page and downloads the PDF. An invoice made from an order with an open online payment link also shows a button to pay the balance online. Send reminder emails a reminder on an overdue invoice.
- Record what came in on the Payments tab (part payments included, with a downloadable receipt), and what went out on the Expenses tab, with VAT marked and the receipt kept. Suppliers sit on their own tab.
- The Overview tab shows Received this month, Spent this month, Net this month, Owed to you and Overdue invoices, plus "Who owes you" (aged from not yet due to over 90 days) and "VAT this month".
- In Inventory, Procurement, People and Payroll, work through the tabs described below. Accounts holds customer statements and the period reports.
Key capabilities
- Exact money, kept apart by currency. Kobo-exact amounts and basis-point VAT. Naira and dollar invoices give two sets of figures; NETICS never adds them together with a rate picked on some day.
- Discounts that reach the invoice. A discount set on an order carries onto the invoice made from it and onto its payment link, so the customer is asked for the discounted amount. Quotations offer the same choice. See orders and payments.
- Invoices that hold a full contract. Template terms and invoice notes take up to 50,000 characters, and the PDF splits long terms into clauses across pages.
- Stock with a history. Inventory has Stock, Movements, Transfers, Categories and locations, and Running low tabs. Every change to a count is a row with its reason, serial numbers are tracked, a branch transfer stays in transit until the other end confirms, and a line at its reorder point raises one alert a day.
- Purchasing with real controls. Procurement runs Requests, Purchase orders and Deliveries. A request above your threshold waits for an owner or admin, no order is raised against an unapproved request, only accepted quantities enter stock, and paying an order writes the expense in Finance.
- People records. People covers Leave (balances worked out when you ask), Attendance, Reviews and Training, with course expiry watched.
- Payroll on any pay day. Pay dates, Pay runs and Schedules. Pay on any day from 1 to 31; a 31st pay day falls on the last day of a shorter month. Each payslip records pension, NHF, relief and PAYE as computed, approving a run freezes it, payslips go out as PDFs, and NETICS reminds the owner three days before a pay day with no approved run.
- Statements and reports. Accounts has Owed to you, Statements (a statement opens with what was owed before the period), Reports with invoiced, received, spent and still owed, profit on what you billed against cash that landed, stock at cost, a branch filter and CSV export.
Plan availability
Finance (invoices, payments, expenses, suppliers), Invoice template and People are on every plan, including the 3-day free trial, which previews Starter and needs no card. Approvals is on every plan too.
Inventory, Procurement, Payroll and Accounts are the ERP operations of Growth (NGN 200,000 a month) and Enterprise. On the trial, Pay as you go and Starter these pages still open so you can look around, the sidebar marks them with a Growth tag, and making a change opens an upgrade sheet at that moment. Prices exclude VAT. Compare plans on pricing.
What it does not do yet
The ERP Route is not a double-entry ledger: there is no chart of accounts, journal, trial balance or balance sheet. NETICS does not file VAT returns or remit PAYE, and "Mark paid" on a payroll run records the payment rather than sending money to staff.
Frequently asked questions
Does NETICS file my VAT returns?
No. The "VAT this month" card shows VAT charged to customers, VAT paid to suppliers and the net position, and says plainly that it is a guide for your accountant, not a filing.
Does payroll work out PAYE and pension?
Yes. A pay run is computed from the people on a schedule and the tax table in force for the period, and each payslip keeps every input, so "why is my pay different this month" has an answer. Have your accountant check the figures on your first run.
Can my customers pay an invoice online?
An invoice made from an order that has an online payment link shows a "Pay online" button on the customer's invoice page. Other invoices carry the banking and payment information from your Invoice template, and you record the payment on the Payments tab when it arrives.
Can I invoice in dollars or another currency?
Yes. Invoices, expenses and other money boxes take any ISO currency. Reports keep each currency separate rather than converting them.
How do my business agents use these records?
On Growth and Enterprise, the Operations Agent proposes reminders for overdue invoices and drafts purchase requests for low stock, each sent only when you approve. Read more about business agents.
