A wholesaler sells the same earrings at two prices: one for retail customers, one for the shops that buy in bulk. Most tools make you keep two catalogues, or edit the price on every order by hand. NETICS now does it for you.
Mark your wholesale customers
Open a customer and set Prices to Wholesale. A wholesale customer pays each product's wholesale price at any quantity, even one piece. You can also select many customers in the directory and press Wholesale prices, or Give wholesale prices from a customer's row menu. Wholesale customers carry a badge in the directory and on their profile.
Give products a wholesale price
In the product editor, under the price, there are two new fields:
- Wholesale price: what wholesale customers pay.
- Wholesale from: a number of pieces. When it is set, anyone who buys at least that many pieces of the product pays the wholesale price too. Leave it empty and only wholesale customers get it.
The product list shows the wholesale price under the price. Price lists you import can carry wholesale price and wholesale from columns.
The right price, everywhere
NETICS works out the price on the server for every order, so it is the same wherever the order comes from: the console, your website, the chat on your site, a payment link from the inbox or NETICS in the hub. An invoice for a wholesale customer starts each product at its wholesale price.
A wholesale price is only shown to someone who can get it. Visitors see "NGN 7,000 each from 6 pieces" when a minimum is set; a price for wholesale customers only stays private.
An example
Didi Jewelry sells gold hoops at NGN 10,000. The wholesale price is NGN 7,000, from 6 pieces.
- A retail customer buys 2 pairs: NGN 10,000 each.
- A retail customer buys 6 pairs: NGN 7,000 each, because 6 is the minimum.
- Ada Stores, marked Wholesale, buys 2 pairs: NGN 7,000 each, because wholesale customers get the price at any quantity.
That last line is what most tools get wrong: a registered wholesaler who needs only a few pieces this week still pays wholesale.
On your own website or app
If your site uses NETICS as its backend, a wholesaler signs in as a member and sees wholesale prices. Orders placed with the member's session are priced at their prices. See the developer documentation for the X-Member-Token header on products and orders.
